Spring Gathering 2017 will feature some of Kentucky’s beloved Fellowship Baptists on April 21-22 at First Baptist Church in Corbin.
Friday opens with a luncheon where we will recognize some new faces to CBF Kentucky, including some representatives of churches who joined the Fellowship since last Spring. That afternoon eight young Baptist leaders will share their big ideas about faith and church during a forum entitled "Generation Next: Meet the Future of the Fellowship." Each speaker will have fifteen minutes. Featured speakers include: Richard Hughes, student at Simmons College of Kentucky (St. Stephen Church, Louisville); Jessica Jasper, chaplain at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown (Living Faith Baptist Fellowship); Jessica Jenkins, student at Campbellsville University (Buechel Park Baptist, Louisville); Laura Rodgers Levens, assistant professor of Christian mission at Baptist Seminary of Kentucky; Alex Lockridge, minister of youth at First Baptist Corbin; Lauren McDuffie, associate pastor at First Baptist Morehead; Evan Rowe, associate pastor at Midway Baptist; and Micah Spicer, pastor of First Baptist Fort Thomas. The facilitator of the forum will be Devita Parnell, young Baptist ecosystem manager for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. Worship that evening will feature proclaimers Kristy and Zach Bay of First Baptist Church of Middlesboro.
Saturday’s breakout sessions include panel discussions from Kentucky church leaders around the themes of “Enriching Worship,” “Becoming Neighbors,” and “Redefining Church.” The CBF Illumination Project will offer a report.
Finally, Saturday worship will feature dean of Baptist Seminary of Kentucky, Dalen Jackson, and friends leading us in the celebration of Holy Communion.
